What is an TT agency?

        Agency which promotes, review and validate the technology transfer process between two or more than organizations are called as TT agency. There are various TT agencies in India.

        1. Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT)
        2. The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC)
        3. Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC)
        4. Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL)
        5. The Technology Bureau for Small Enterprises (TBSE)

Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT)

Established in 1977 in Bangalore. In 1993, the Centre moved to New Delhi.

It promotes TT to and from small - medium scale enterprises in Asia and Pacific.

It assist the members and associate members of UNESCA.

The Centre has focused on three specific areas of activity: Technology information, Technology transfer and innovation management.

The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC)

Established in 1953, India. In 1981, NRDC was combined with the National Enterprise Board (NEB) to form British Technology Group.

Established to promote, develop, nurture and commercialize innovative, reliable and competitive technologies from R&D institutes.

NRDC would patent the product for commercial exploitation and earn royalties as private sector companies generated sales from those products.

Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC)

TIFAC, an autonomous organization set up in 1988, Department of science and technology.

To look ahead in technology domain, assess the technology trajectories and support innovation by networked actions in select areas of national importance.

On 103rd Indian Science Congress in Mysore, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi released the Technology Vision 2035 prepared by TIFAC.

Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL)

BCIL was incorporated as public limited company in 1990 under The Companies Act, 1956. It is promoted by the Department of Biotechnology, India.

Major Functions: Development and transfer for the commercialization of biotechnology products project consultancy, biosafety awareness and human resource development.

BCIL manages several programme of Government of India such as Biotechnology Industry Partnership Programme, Biotechnology Industrial Training Programme.

The Technology Bureau for Small Enterprises (TBSE)

SIDBI (Small Industries Development Bank of India) and UNAPC created TBSE in 1995, to tap opportunities at the global level for the acquisition of technology or establishing business collaboration.

Services provide by TBSE : Technology Information, Match making (business collaboration), Finance syndication, Support services.
